Why Lisbon is a padel paradise#
Lisbon has gone from 50 padel courts in 2022 to over 200 in 2026. The city is absolutely mad for the sport, and new venues are popping up every month.
But not all courts are created equal. Some have incredible facilities. Others... well, let's just say we've played on courts where the glass had more cracks than a phone screen at a music festival.
We spent three weeks visiting every major venue in greater Lisbon. Here's our honest take.
1. Padel Hub Lisbon (Parque das Nacoes)#
Courts: 8 (4 indoor, 4 outdoor) Price: 28-40 EUR/hour depending on peak time Vibe: Premium, well-maintained, great for competitive players
The flagship venue in Lisbon. Immaculate courts, good lighting, and a pro shop on-site. The outdoor courts have a partial river view. Booking is essential during evenings.
Best for: Competitive players who want perfect conditions.
2. Padel Academy Belem#
Courts: 6 (all outdoor) Price: 20-30 EUR/hour Vibe: Relaxed, scenic, family-friendly
Right near the Jeronimos Monastery. The courts are solid, the surroundings are beautiful, and there's a cafe next door that does excellent pasteis de nata. What more do you need?
Best for: Weekend social games with friends.
3. Club Padel Cascais#
Courts: 12 (8 outdoor, 4 indoor) Price: 25-38 EUR/hour Vibe: Club atmosphere, strong community, regular tournaments
Technically Cascais, not Lisbon, but worth the 25-minute drive. This is where the community really shines - regular mixers, tournaments for all levels, and a bar that stays open late.
Best for: Players who want to join a community, not just book courts.
4. Urban Padel (Alcantara)#
Courts: 4 (all indoor) Price: 30-45 EUR/hour Vibe: Industrial-chic, central, excellent for rainy days
Converted warehouse space with great acoustics and always-perfect conditions. Expensive, but you're paying for central location and all-weather reliability.
Best for: After-work sessions when you don't want to worry about weather.
5. Padel Park Oeiras#
Courts: 10 (6 outdoor, 4 covered) Price: 18-28 EUR/hour Vibe: Value-focused, big facility, parking available
The best value in the Lisbon area. Slightly outside the centre but easy to reach by car with free parking. Courts are well-maintained and booking is easier than the central venues.
Best for: Regular players who play 3+ times per week and care about value.
6. Arena Padel (Campo Pequeno)#
Courts: 5 (all indoor) Price: 32-42 EUR/hour Vibe: Central, modern, convenient metro access
The most metro-accessible venue in Lisbon. Small but well-run, with quality courts and good changing facilities. It's pricey, but you're paying for pure convenience.
Best for: Players without cars who live in central Lisbon.
7. Padel Village (Sintra)#
Courts: 14 (10 outdoor, 4 indoor) Price: 15-25 EUR/hour Vibe: Sprawling facility, mountain views, great value
The biggest facility in the Lisbon metro area. Set against the Sintra hills, it's a genuine day-out destination. They run beginner clinics every Saturday morning.
Best for: Beginners who want affordable court time and coaching.
Our booking tips#
- Book 3-5 days ahead for evening slots at popular venues
- Off-peak (weekday mornings) can save you 30-40%
- Most venues have apps - use them for last-minute cancellation slots
- Bring your own balls - some venues charge extra for these
Getting started#
If you're visiting Lisbon and want to try padel for the first time, read our first padel racket guide before spending any money. Most clubs also rent rackets, so try before you buy. And if you're wondering whether padel or tennis is the better workout, we compared both sports head-to-head.
See you on court.
